Esther My Child

The Purim Story

Capo up to second fret
        G Bm
When we are what we should be
    C D
Hashem appears openly
        G Bm
If you keep the Torah true
C D B7
I’ll be close to you
          Em
Now we’ve followed their strange ways
     C B
The banquet so many days
C G
We only meant it outwardly
C D
Please forsake us not

G Em
Esther my child
G Em
Heed my words to you
Am D G
Even in the lion’s den
C D
Keep the Torah true
C G
But reveal to no one
C D G
That you are a Jew

     G Bm
Va’anochi hastir astir
   Am D
Panai bayom hahu
        G Bm
If you hide yourselves from me
     C D B7
I’ll surely hide from you
           Em
Now we’ve followed their strange ways
     C B
The banquet so many days
C G
We only meant it outwardly
C D
Please forsake us not

G Em
Esther my child
G Em
Heed my words to you
Am D G
Even in the darkest hour
C D
Keep the Torah true
         C G
Through you will come salvation
   C D G
To each and every Jew

“their strange ways” should be C D Em
also, what’s the major/7th between low and high part? another b7?

Thanks AJ. I had trouble on those words but I think doing a C is preemptive of the C on “the banquet”. If you have any other ideas, let me know, but I think Em works also. I’ll get back to you on the lo-hi transition.
